Steer Clear of Wildlife was founded in Pennsylvania to raise public awareness and to find humane solutions for the problem of wildlife vehicle collision.
Our mission is to make roads safe to cross for people and animals. We accomplish that goal in various ways: by raising awareness about the important contribution wildlife makes in keeping people and the environment healthy; by working with local townships and public officials to establish policies aimed at limiting wildlife vehicle collisions; and by educating motorists about avoiding crashes with animals. Driving intelligently and defensively is essential in solving this problem.
Steer Clear of Wildlife is a non-profit organization with 501C3 status.
Steer Clear of Wildlife was originally known as Wildlife Friends which was founded in 2005 in Chester County. The new name was adopted in 2009 to reflect the broader scope of the organization’s evolving work.
